Kerala Microsoft DevCon 2015 will be held on 28th March 2015. This was planned for 14th March which we were forced to postpone due to the state wide unpredicted strike/hartal. Because of this we have two speaker changes, but we made sure we were able add two powerful but hot topics.

Lambda architecture

Nathan Marz came up with the term Lambda Architecture (LA) for a generic, scalable and fault-tolerant data processing architecture, based on his experience working on distributed data processing systems at Backtype and Twitter. Read more here.

Wiki says – Lambda architecture is a data-processing architecture designed to handle massive quantities of data by taking advantage of both batch- and stream-processing methods. This approach to architecture attempts to balance latency, throughput, and fault-tolerance by using batch processing to provide comprehensive and accurate views of batch data, while simultaneously using real-time stream processing to provide views of online data. The two view outputs may be joined before presentation. The rise of lambda architecture is correlated with the growth of big data, real-time analytics, and the drive to mitigate the latencies of map-reduce.
